Carpenter ants have had a cozy home in our red maple tree for several years. We realized that their community was thriving; but the tree still had a beautiful canopy, and we hated to take it down. We realized that we couldn't put it off any longer or the tree might fall on our house during a storm. Yesterday, hubby and my dad took it down. The infestation began at ground level and extended upward about 7 feet.

Wow! I am impressed. Mostly because we have two pines that have to come down and I am dreading the work that will entail.
Check out the "lizard" in our back yard when you get a minute...
Good Job D!!! He was pretty sore yesterday! You better pray those ants don't come your way!
That's sad, we've watched all Grandpa's big trees come down over the years...hate the ants!
